PennDOT Driver License Center

Posting this review today, January 23, 2024. The guy who was working in counter 7 was a complete RACIST. He deserves a ZERO star rating but google does not have that. I basically went to this location to convert my license from Maryland to PA and also update my last name as I recently got married. I had all the documents with me but the guy basically didn't want to accommodate me. First, he said my green card should have my updated last name on it. I told him that when I applied for my green card I was still using my maiden name and that's the reason why I brought my marriage certificate with me as a proof that I'm changing my last name. (I also have my Social Security card with my married name on it.) Guess what he said? The marriage certificate that I have is FAKE and that I need to go to court to get a legitimate one. He also said a lot of stuff that didn't even make sense just to prove that I can't get my Driver's License. He was so RUDE and was yelling at me. At this point, I just felt embarrassed and left. I drove to Norristown location that same day and guess what? I HAD NO ISSUES. The very nice lady named Alma helped me with no problem. Too bad I didn't get the name of the guy who was working at the KOP location specifically, Counter 7. But whoever he is, I hope he gets fired.

Very quick and well organized! I arrived for a photo about 10 min after opening, and there was a line of about 10 people waiting to check in. The person at the check in desk makes sure you have all your needed documents, then gives you the proper ticket. Aside from some people having documentation questions, the line moved very quickly, and I was seated in about 5 min. I’ve been to centers where you check yourself in, but having someone knowledgeable to make sure you have all your stuff and go to the right place seems to really help cut down on overall wait times since you don’t have people waiting in the room only to be turned away after they reach a counter. The people working the counters were very cordial, helpful, and patient when I wanted a photo retake and zoned out a bit while I was verifying the information on my license. Least painful experience at a driver’s license center so far.

I’m pleasantly surprised with how efficient, courteous, and straightforward everything about this office was. The staff made it easy to follow any instructions, they were polite, they worked efficiently, and they had me in and out within 45 minutes during morning rush. I appreciate when any public office does a good job, so hats off to this driving license centre for working like a well oiled machine.

This location is excellent! The greeter at the front door makes sure that everyone is taken care of and has all the documentation they need before they begin waiting for their turn and he goes out of his way to make sure everything is going smoothly within the building. He personally walked me through everything and watched to make sure that I was called up in a timely manner. Everyone here is really friendly and in good humor, which helps. A lot of smiling and patient people. The system is very organized so you’re not waiting a long time. Highly recommend!

I was DREADING coming to renew my license and get a realID but someone told me this location was nice. I didn’t believe it. I got there and everyone was amazingly friendly. I was in and out in under 30 minutes, which included completing the realID application, having my photo taken, and waiting for the card to be handed to me. This place is incredible!!!
